I was very excited to receive a cheque from Worksop College for Muscular Dystrophy UK last week – last year I volunteered along with other parents to do flowers for key events in their calendar (pictured are some from last term) which I really enjoyed and met some lovely people. I supplied my flowers and other British-grown flowers and instead of school paying me for them, they are kindly donating the money to MDUK instead – MDUK are the national charity funding research and... providing support for families with muscle wasting diseases like Duchenne MD which my little brother Tim lost his life to. I’m unable to fund raise by marathon running or sky-diving and instead I fund-raise through my flowers (just less painful and scary altogether!). I’m really happy that Worksop College have asked me to carry on helping with their flowers (even though my daughter has finished school now), and looking forward to their first date at the beginning of October, their Founders Day. Can't wait....!
