We’ve had such a fantastically busy time these past weeks, it’s been a struggle to get anywhere near a laptop, so I hope to fill you in over the next few weeks on a wonderful summer of flowers, with some amazing memories of playing a little part in some really lovely weddings of just the loveliest couples. I’ve just watched “Love Actually” for probably the 20th time (well, it’s on the run up to Christmas and I was making mini-wreaths!) and in a world where most of the time I want to switch off the news and pretend it’s all not happening, it is important to remember that “Love is All Around You” as the film says, and it’s so lovely to witness this in real life at a wedding. As is the case with the whole of a wedding, a huge amount of time and effort goes into our wedding flowers, it’s absolutely one of the greatest privileges of what we do, and we love all that’s involved. It’ll be great to share some photos here in the next few weeks.
All our other business continues alongside the weddings, and this week, it felt like the last fling of summer, as we filled Gannets Daycafe and Bistrot with the last blues and whites of the summer flowers before the first frosts kick in tonight. And as summer and autumn fade away, we’ve started preparation for, yes, Christmas! We’ve already got our plans well under way, with our Christmas Wreath Workshops on 6th and 11th December at East Bridgford Hill (£55 pp, including festive refreshment, raising funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK). Reserve your place by contacting me on 07976722627 or FB messenger or contact@daisyworks.co.uk – places are limited and you’ll get to create your own luxury wreath in beautiful surroundings. We’re also looking forward to taking part in the Holme Pierrepont Christmas Fair on 16th November, raising money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Visit their beautiful dedicated website for lots more information.
