Mother's Day Flowers

Mother's Day is a BIG day in the calendar of a florist, and this year was no exception. Life as a flowersmith means sometimes working in the wee small hours and I had a couple of late nights/ early mornings this year making sure all the bouquets were ready to post or deliver.

On days like this I can't help thinking about people for whom Mother's Day is a little difficult, whether it's because your mum is no longer with you, or because you haven't yet been able to have children (and as someone with an IVF daughter, I know it can be hard). It's also hard when being a mother hasn't turned out quite the way you imagined, and there are families out there everywhere coping with all sorts of difficulties they didn't anticipate when children came into their lives.

Remembering some of these families, Daisy Works used this Mother's Day to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK, so a HUGE thank you to everyone for your support.

Pictured are the posies that went to Gannet's Cafe in Newark for their Mother's Day lunches, so a big thank you to them for their support too!
